The cost of rodent damage to your vehicle

Have you ever seen rodent damage to a vehicle’s engine? (check out last week’s Instagram post, if you haven’t)

It’s the soy based wire casing that they’re after. Makes for a nice snack for opportunistic little critters.

Rodents have a habit of chewing up expensive wiring looms that keep Audis, Hondas, Toyotas and Volvos running.

So what’s the cost of rodent damage?

  1. Rodent droppings and urine fumes can get into the ventilation system and that’s a health concern for occupants.
  2. Your car decides not to start one day. All that damaged wiring finally brings your vehicle to a halt and all you see are flashing lights filling up the dash. As long as you’re not up the mountain, you can call for help!
  3. It can be damn expensive to replace wiring. Some car owners have reportedly paid upwards of $8,000 for repairs. Yikes!!
  4. Rodent damage might not be covered by the automaker’s warranty, so make sure to investigate that.

What can you do about it?

Best way to prevent this is to have a trusted technician by your side who knows what to look out for! We can repair the wires, strengthen the integrity & protection around those wiring harnesses and restore the vehicle to full proper operation for a fair low cost.

Need to have your vehicle inspected to ensure you are clean of rodents?
